in the shadow of love, filtered voice-like sounds are floating through nocturnal spheres. a broken beat transports obscure yet sweet synth lines. a mellow opener with an euphoric glimmer. schatten der liebe.

a tight electro beat introduces us to harsh synth sounds and piercing melody snippets. sometimes dark, always tense. euphoria is never out of sight. america.

modulated chords and multi-surfaced layers give space to urban sounds. driven by fast paced beats, an army of sax players at midnight is trying to reach its audience. telephones are ringing and no one picks up. error line.

funky bass lines, kicking drums and whipping claps play with us and pull us right on the dance floor. house music par excellence. urban chaos has just begun.

pushed by a morphed growling bass and stoic drums. a playful melody slowly falls into place, gets twisted and twirled and rises sky high. endorphin.

No Matter – Seeglass Version

the amazing seeglass from kent, england made a wonderful version of karbidangeln mit aurica’s song no matter :

“i awoke one morning by the envelope dropping
through my letterbox, the contents a CD. the track
on the CD was ‘No Matter’. A piece of music that
after listening 3 times I had a feeling for making
a few additions and instruments. Of course I asked
Aurica first, and she gave me the go-ahead. ‘yes,
do as you please. i’am interested to what you will
do with it.’ And so, i did play, EQ and record some
sounds. I returned ‘No Matter’ to karbidangeln mit
aurica and she accepted and enjoyed what i did.
and that, was the finest compliment.”

The opener Picknick starts off with a distorted guitar, driven by a static powerful beat. Cymbals, chimes and percussion build a perfect carpet for Aurica’s voice.

No matter. A monotonous bassline, a minimalistic 4/4 beat and a lonely guitar theme are topped with haunting vocals. Addictive.

Driver. A man in trouble with both the mob and the police. A real sticky situation.
A 6 year old boy is telling us a story, while machine beats, industrial grooves and shimmering layers are pulsating underneath.

She and He. Droning pads and hypnotizing vocals pull us deeper into Karbidangeln Mit Aurica’s bitter sweet universe.

Raindrops. A pluckering beat, mellow pads and a playful melody. Raindrops fall on my head. Beautiful and meditative.

For Nothing. Gloomy and cloudy synth layers, a sublime beat and rhythmical synth lines. A pensive tune with a sad note. Not all glitter is golden.

Sunny Day. Synth layers slowly build up until a marching beat kicks in like a small explosion. Voices and a grooving bass line emerge, and take us along.

Karbidangeln Mit Aurica on Electrolyt

After just over 2 years, the Electrolyt Netlabel returns with its sixth release Glacial Series by Karbidangeln Mit Aurica.
